Warsaw’s premier beats and bass label U Know Me Records returns for what may be its most universally appealing release yet – Kixnare’s Red, including its first single „Gucci Dough”.
XLR8R said: „If you were a fan of Druid Cloak’s remix of A$AP Rocky’s „Fashion Killa” from last month, you just might be into „Gucci Dough” by Polish artist Kixnare. Both tunes draw from the same pool of R&B and hip-hop influences, which helps bolster the electronic elements with a bit of added swagger.”
It took two years for a new album, but it was clearly worth the wait. 2010’s genre-bending Digital Garden, which was only U Know Me Records’ second release at the time, marked Kixnare’s memorable arrival onto the international music scene. And it looks like his forthcoming Red album is set to solidify this talented, increasingly mature producer as a real contender in electronic music.
Each track on Red showcases Kixnare’s insight into the latest sound of club music, without ever losing sight of his urban roots. Soulful samples, broken beats, and 90s-inspired grooves, combined with the dusty atmosphere of London bass music lie at the heart of Red – an album poised to be ringing in the ears of electronic music lovers throughout 2013.
In fact, Red’s first single, „Gucci Dough”, and its sultry accompanying video, has already racked up an impressive 100 000 views in a month on YouTube.
